The Madison SQL Server Users Group (MADPASS) is an official chapter of the Professional Association for SQL Server. We are here to support the SQL Server users in the Madison, WI area. We plan to meet on the third Wednesday of every month.

Meetings are always FREE and food is provided. Details about the next meeting can be found below.

NULL is not a value

Allowing NULL "values" in your database is simple, but managing them is a whole different story. Learn what NULL really means and why you may want to avoid it in your systems. I will share techniques for overcoming NULL and other SQL idiosyncrasies leading to bad data or incorrect query results.

Wendy Pastrick is from Chicago, IL, and for the past 15 years has served as a Database Administrator supporting both development and production environments. Her many years of involvement with PASS include WIT Virtual Chapter and the Chicago Suburban User Group, serving as Regional Mentor, and as a PASS Board member since 2013. Wendy has organized several highly successful SQLSaturday events in Chicago.
